SIBBC&S Online Programs uphold the standards of academic integrity and expects all members of its community to commit to honesty, fairness, and respect for the intellectual work of others. This policy outlines the principles of academic integrity, types of academic misconduct, and the procedures for addressing violations.

  • All academic work must represent an individual's own efforts and abilities. Misrepresentation of one's work or the work of others is prohibited. Intellectual contributions of others, both within and outside the community, must be acknowledged appropriately to maintain an environment of academic respect. Students are strictly cautioned to stay away from the following.

  • Plagiarism: Presenting someone else's work, including words, ideas, data, or products, as one's own without proper attribution.

  • Cheating: Using or attempting to use unauthorized materials, information, or study aids in any academic exercise.

  • Fabrication: Falsifying or inventing any information or citation in an academic assignment.

  • Facilitating Academic Dishonesty: Helping or attempting to help another to commit an act of academic dishonesty.

  • Unauthorized Collaboration: Working with others on assignments without the facilitator’s permission where such collaboration is not allowed.

  • Sanctions for academic misconduct may include, but are not limited to, a failing grade on the assignment, a failing grade in the course, academic probation, suspension, or expulsion.

  • Records of academic misconduct cases will be maintained confidentially in accordance with institution’s policies.
